Hyundai Ioniq 6 priced for New Zealand

Local pricing and specification for the new Hyundai Ioniq 6 has been released today, setting the model up for its New Zealand launch later this month.

The Electrified Streamliner as its also known will become the second model in the brand’s fully electric Ioniq range and is also the first sedan to be built on Hyundai’s Electrified-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

It’s 800V architecture combined with its ability to recharge from 10 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes are some of the model’s highlights, along with its 614km range and low drag coefficient of 0.21.

Recently, the model picked up a five-star ANCAP safety rating with a record score.

Kiwis will have three variants with two battery sizes to choose from, including a 52kWh and 77.4kWh option, with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrains also available.

There are also nine colours to choose from including Serenitiy White Pearl, Nocturne Grey Metallic, Ultimate Red Metallic, Abyss Black Pearl, Digital Green Pearl, Digital Green Matte, Byte Blue Solid, Biophillic Blue Pearl and Gravity Gold Matte.

Ioniq 6 Standard Range and Extended Range

Starting the lineup off is the Ioniq 6 Standard Range which features a 53kWh battery that powers a single electric motor over the rear wheels making 111kW. A total driving range of up to 429km is achievable in the entry level model.

An Extended Range option is also available that equips the Ioniq 6 with a 77.4kWh battery which stores enough juice to drive up to 614km on. Power is provided to a 168kW single electric motor.

Both the Standard and Extended Range models come with 18-inch wheels and low rolling resistance tyres.

Pricing comes to $79,990 for the Ioniq 6 Standard Range while the more powerful Extended Range is $94,990.

Ioniq 6 Elite

Second in the lineup is the rear-wheel drive Ioniq 6 Elite which features a 168kW and 350Nm electric motor alongside a 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery.

The model is distinguished by 20-inch alloy wheels and can drive up to 545km on a single charge.

Pricing for the Ioniq 6 Elite is $104,990.

Ioniq 6 Limited

Finally, the top of the range Ioniq 6 Limited arrives with an all-wheel drive system consisting of a 74kW, 255Nm electric motor up front and a 165kW, 350Nm unit at the rear.

This enables the model to hit 100km/h from a standstill in 5.1 seconds while being able to travel 519km on a single charge.

The highly specified Ioniq 6 Limited is priced at $124,990.

Availability

Kiwis can register their interest for the Electrified Streamline on Hyundai New Zealand’s website with pre-orders also being accepted ahead of the model’s launch later this month.

All Ioniq 6’s are covered by a factory 3 year/100,000 km warranty programme along with a 8 year/160,000 km high voltage battery warranty. In addition, service intervals are 24 months or 30,000km.
