Turners, New Zealand’s largest and most trusted used vehicle dealership group, opened its newest cars branch in Timaru on November 15, 2023.

This is branch number 31 for Turners. The new Timaru site at 1 Meadows Road, Washdyke, Timaru 7910, will provide a full range of services, including buying and selling cars, on-site finance, and insurance. There will be around 120 cars up for sale at any given time, ensuring there should always be something suitable for the people of Timaru. If not, they can now easily access any of the approximately 3000 vehicles Turners has available for sale around NZ.

Timaru was carefully chosen by Turners as a strategic location, following the success of recent expansion into Nelson and Rotorua, with another new branch in Napier on the horizon. Turners aims to bring its proven model of high volume/low prices and exceptional customer experience to the community in Timaru.

“It’s great to be open down there, a lot of hard work has gone into creating a branch that we’re really proud of, and we’re confident it will open up mobility, business, and employment opportunities for the good people of Timaru and surrounding region. Initial feedback from all the local people that we’ve spoken to has been very, very positive – they are excited that we are here,” says Greg Hedgepeth, CEO of Turners Auto Retail.

The Timaru team, which will eventually comprise 10 people, has mainly come from the region itself. Everyone has been carefully selected to uphold Turners’ commitment to making it easy to buy and sell vehicles.

“Now that we are open I know the Blue team are really keen to get stuck in. In fact, we’ve already started – we had customers making contact as soon as the sign went up and the team managed to buy and sell over 30 cars before we even opened the doors,” added Hedgepeth.

There will be an official opening event for the branch in late January 2024. Rumour is that the Gleniti School Jump Jam team will be putting on an impressive show as part of the festivities.
