Mini has just commenced the final round of testing for its new fully electric Aceman crossover that is expected to be revealed this April.

Slotting in between the Cooper and Countryman, the crossover promises to create a new vehicle concept within the British brand’s line-up by taking features from the two and combining them into one.

The Aceman also fits in perfectly between both aforementioned models in terms of size, with the vehicle measuring 4075mm long, 1754mm wide, and 1495mm tall. That’s enough room to fit four doors and five passengers.

Even though camouflage still clads the exterior of the upcoming crossover, it’s clear to see how much of its design has been inspired by the Aceman Concept that was revealed in 2022.

Up front, a closed-off grille sits between a set of octagonal-shaped headlights, its door handles sit flush against the bodywork on either side, while a large tailgate dominates the rear.

The model is currently undergoing the final phase of testing in the desert, where its electric drivetrain and 54.2kWh battery are being pitted against temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius.

Mini says it will fully reveal the Aceman in a few months, with several reports suggesting this will come at the Auto China car show in April 2024.
