The Peugeot 208 hybrid is being added to NZ showrooms, the brand’s first petrol electric offering sans a plug. The 208 GT Hybrid is one of the 48v variety, so a mild hybrid in reality.
Peugeot NZ says the new (mild) hybrid powertrain for 208 underlines the brand’s commitment to sustainability as it aims to electrify all Peugeot models, both passenger cars and commercial vehicles, by 2025.
What is the fuel consumption of the 208 hybrid?
The engine is a 1.2-litre boosted triple, output rated at 100kW with 230Nm of torque, on from 1750rpm. This drives via a six-speed ‘e-DCT’ auto. Fuel consumption is stated at 4.7L/100km with emissions of 105g/km. The 0-100km/h sprint is said to be clicked off in 8.1sec.
