Indian Pursuit – A Noble Pursuit

Indian has launched another top end cruiser optimised for touring and known as the Indian Pursuit. The company rates it as “the most capable and refined American touring machine on the road”.

Consider this if you “value the journey as much as the destination”.

It will be available as a blacked out Dark Horse model ($44,995) or as the Pursuit Limited ($45,495), both with Premium Package.

Mike Dougherty, President of Indian Motorcycle, commented “With Indian Pursuit, we’ve expanded on the unparalleled sophistication of the PowerPlus motor to deliver a class-leading, fully-loaded touring machine that combines top-tier performance with unparalleled comfort and advanced tech features, delivering an American V-twin touring experience unlike any other.”

The PowerPlus engine displaces 1770cc, and the liquid-cooled V-twin offers up 91kW and 178Nm of torque at 3800rpm. Each gets a PowerPlus calibration, improving low-speed drivability, just like the Challenger models.

Marking the Pursuit model out are an adjustable windscreen and vented lower fairings, providing flexibility according to differing weather conditions.

Heated grips are standard while there is a three-setting heated Touring Comfort seat optimised for long distance travel. A full luggage set-up with power locking allows carriage of up to 133 litres of gear.

On the technology front, both models come with electronically adjustable rear preload courtesy of Fox suspension systems. Other standard kit includes integrated accessory headlights, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and a seven-inch touchscreen.

There’s also corner braking and dynamic traction control thanks to the provision of a Bosch IMU.

Options include power upgrades with air cleaners and cams, four-speaker surround sound, LED lighting and an adaptive LED Headlight (cornering headlight).
