With the increasing numbers of EV and Hybrid vehicles being imported to meet the Clean Car Standard and Discount regime VIA recommends dealers take advantage of the specialist training MITO offers.

Investing in this training will help keep your business up with the latest technologies as well as keeping you, your staff, and customers safer when working in or demonstrating these vehicles with the added bonus of having staff who are more knowledgeable and confident when working with these vehicles and your customers.

Courses available are:-

EV Safety Micro-credential:

This micro-credential is designed to recognise the knowledge and practical skills required to safely work on or around electric vehicles. Electric vehicles include battery electric, and hybrid electric vehicles or machines. There is ~3 hours of pre workshop eLearning to complete before attending the workshop which is 5 hours in duration. For more information on the Micro-credential course click here

NZ Certificate in EV Automotive Engineering (Level 5):

MITO’s L5 EV qualification programme will provide company employees with the skills and knowledge to safely inspect, service and repair electric vehicles. Designed in consultation with industry and available to qualified automotive technicians, this programme will ensure the learner has the ability to respond to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in New Zealand.

The Level 5 programme is made up of 70 credits and is expected to take 11 months to complete. Learners must have completed an Automotive Engineering qualification at Level 4, or provide evidence of equivalent skills and knowledge, in order to enrol in this training programme.
