MG Motor New Zealand has today announced price drops for a selection of its electrified vehicles, one of which is now $5000 cheaper.

As of July 4, Kiwis can now pick up a ZS EV Long Range for $59,990 ($52,975 after the full clean car rebate is applied).

The fully electric SUV boasts a driving range of 440km and comes with a host of technological features as standard, including heated front seats, a 360-degree view camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as wireless phone charging.

In addition, MG has cut the price of two HS plug-in hybrid variants, with the Excite coming in at $49,990 ($45,965 post rebate), while the higher-spec Essence now costs $55,990 ($51,965 after the rebate).

Both models feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 189kW and 370Nm of torque, paired with an electric motor that can provide up to 63km of emissions-free travel when needed.

“This new pricing action makes the price of a new MG ZS EV Long Range and MG HS PHEV Excite or Essence even more compelling,” says Arek Zywot, MG New Zealand Country Manager.

The now cheaper models each feature ten MG Pilot safety and driver-assistance features that come at no extra cost, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, rear traffic alert and more.

A transferable seven-year unlimited-kilometer warranty sweetens the deal for the ZS EV and HS PHEVs, alongside seven years of roadside assistance and seven years’ worth of warrant of fitness checks.
