Kiwis can now control their BYD via a smartphone app

BYD has today released a helpful new app for its Kiwi customers, allowing Atto 3 owners to control their vehicle all from the touch of a button on their smartphone.

The BYD Smart Driving app allows users to turn their vehicle on, control air conditioning settings, check battery charge, lock or unlock doors, honk the horn and put the windows up or down as long as their phone is within 3G cellular service.

All Atto 3 owners can download the app from their phone’s respective app store, register their details used at time of purchase from their dealer and follow the prompts.

“We are excited to launch the BYD App to our New Zealand customers. The benefits both new and existing customers receive with a BYD Atto 3 has greatly increased since the vehicle launched,” said BYD New Zealand.

“Having the ability to pre-condition their car, see the vehicle state of charge and the charging time while connected to a charger, will let them plan better for future trips. In the long run, it will make a major difference for owners and fleet operators looking to maximize the efficiency of their vehicles.”

The Atto 3 has experienced much success since it launched in New Zealand last year, with the model receiving multiple awards including our own 2022 Car of the Year award.
