Hyundai New Zealand is gearing up to reveal the all-new Kona at Fieldays, the southern hemisphere’s largest agricultural event, when it gets underway later this week.

Fans will be able to get up close with the next-generation subcompact SUV’s new looks, interior, and abundance of technological features at the four-day event.

Over 40 vehicles will be displayed on Hyundai’s site, including much of its passenger car range, as well as the carmaker’s commercial vans and trucks.

The upcoming subcompact SUV was first revealed late last year and information about the new model has been drip fed to us since.

Hyundai has given the new Kona an ‘EV-led’ look while it has also grown bigger than its predecessor. The model will be offered with three distinctive looks to match each of its three different powertrains too.

A fully electric Kona will be on offer alongside a range of hybrid options, as well as a purely petrol-powered version.

Inside, the interior now boasts more space thanks to a 60mm longer wheelbase than the previous generation, with legroom and headroom growing by 77mm and 11mm respectively. When the rear seats are folded down, the new Kona is capable of transporting 723 litres of cargo.

With regard to its tech fit-out, occupants can expect to find a 12.3-inch dual screen display that can download software updates over-the-air for maintenance and the addition of new features.

The all-new Hyundai Kona will be on display at Fieldays at Mystery Creek, Hamilton from 14 to 17 June, 2023. The Hyundai stand is located at site W7.
