Hunter 350 a global hit within a year

Words NZ Autocar | Photos Royal Enfield

August 11, 2023

Royal Enfield says that within a year it has sold over 200,000 examples of its $7590 Hunter 350. Released in August last year, the Hunter reached the 100,000 sales mark in February of 2023, and it has taken just five months since to surpass the 200k mark.

Using the powertrain that debuted in the Meteor 350 cruiser the single develops not a huge amount of power (15kW) but plenty of torque (27Nm) at middling revs (4000rpm) which makes it an easy ride, especially in town where its quick steering means it is an easy commute. Like other RE singles, it sounds the part, and looks it too in that neo-retro way.

Royal Enfield’s CEO, Mr. B. Govindarajan, said of the milestone “The Hunter 350 is, undoubtedly, the most popular motorcycle launched in the mid-size motorcycle segment over the last year. Not just in India, it is growing in popularity across international markets as well. We thank our new and vibrant Hunter community for making 350 a huge success and helping us achieve this milestone in a very short time.”

With its appealing design, easy dynamics and neo-retro charm, the Hunter 350 is proving a favourite amongst young riders.

The bike has been well received by the press too, the recipient of more than 20 global awards including the ‘Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2023’ and ‘Best Modern Classic Lightweight Motorcycle’ in Thailand.

Across various markets, the Hunter 350 has been instrumental in getting newer riders into the Royal Enfield community. It has also become popular for those into motorcycle customisation.
