Following on from its pair of Elite Challenger and Chieftan cruisers, Indian announces the release of the FTR Stealth Grey Special Edition, a factory limited-run model for international markets.
Only 150 units are being produced, of which five are heading here, due to dot down in July. The FTR Stealth Grey is priced at $NZ23,995 including GST.
The new paint and graphics scheme should appeal to those who admire American heritage, and are after a modern look in their supernaked motorcycle.
Indian introduced the FTR in 2019 with styling inspired by the FTR750 Flat Track racer. The 2022 FTR features a retuned 1203cc 92kW/120Nm V-Twin engine, and the handling has been tweaked. The latter consists of optimised suspension settings, while the chassis features a steeper steering head angle (rake of 25 degrees) and less trail (99.9mm). The FTR SGSE rides on 17-inch wheels front and rear, shod in Metzeler Sportec rubber.
Grant Bester, Vice President International, commented “This factory exclusive, styled by our international design teams, takes the FTR’s American heritage and iconic silhouette, and combines its dynamic performance with understated, under-the-radar styling.”
Special items include ProTaper handlebars, radial-mount Brembo brakes, cruise control, cylinder deactivation to manage engine heat at idle, a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with phone integration via Bluetooth or USB, and configurable gauges.
There’s also a standard Akrapovic exhaust, three ride modes, wheelie control with rear wheel lift mitigation, stability control, traction control and cornering ABS.
