Subaru New Zealand has released the pricing for its turbocharged Outback XT models, with deliveries starting in December.

Outback XT will kick things off at $62,990 not including on road costs.

The Outback XT Touring premium starts at $67,990 before ORCs.

When the Clean Car Standard fee comes in next year, a charge of $2357.50 will be applied to both models.

Turbocharged power

The new Outback XT and Touring variants each feature a 2.4-litre turbocharged boxer engine that Subaru says makes it the most powerful vehicle the brand offers, generating 183kW and 350Nm of torque.

Both models can now tow 2400kg braked, improving on the outgoing naturally aspirated 2.5-litre Outback’s 2000kg limit.

What do you get?

Subaru Outback XT:

  • Dark metallic 18″ alloy wheels
  • Black grille, wing mirrors and rear badging
  • Black roof rails with green tie-down points
  • Green accents on the side badges
  • Green stitching on the water repellent synthetic leather seats, centre console, steering wheel and gear shift boot.
  • Dual function X-Mode with deep snow and deep mud settings, which allows the Outback XT Turbo to traverse almost any terrain.
  • Satellite navigation
  • Rear power tail gate with hands-free badge sensor

Subaru Outback XT Touring:

  • Nappa leather accented seat trim
  • Electric sunroof
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Harman Kardon® audio
  • Rear power tail gate with hands-free badge sensor
  • 11.6″ tablet-like touch screen with satellite navigation
  • A Driver Monitoring System (DMS) with facial recognition to detect driver drowsiness or distraction. The DMS can also recognise up to five drivers to personalise the driver’s seat, wing mirror and air conditioning preferences.
  • Heated front and rear seats
  • Ventilated front seat
  • 8 Airbags

Both models are equipped with Subaru’s EyeSight crash avoidance technology as standard.

More information on the model can be found here.
