Ram Trucks is expanding its local line-up of ute-eating pick-ups with the 1500 Laramie Sport, which is now available to order from dealerships across New Zealand.

The new Sport variant is based on the regular Laramie but adds a colour-coded grille, bumpers, and mirrors, as well as a set of fresh 20-inch alloy wheels.

It’ll also come with a RamBox on both sides of the rear tray, giving owners more ways to transport equipment like tools securely. More importantly, they can even be turned into portable chilly bins.

The interior of the Laramie Sport has also undergone special treatment, receiving black headlining and carbon fibre effect inserts on the dashboard.

Other standard features include a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, forward collision warning, a 360-degree parking camera, parallel parking assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera, as well as front and rear parking sensors.

Under the bonnet sits a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 which pushes 291kW and 556Nm of torque through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, enough to tow up to 4500kg.

“New Zealand’s popular, premium full-size truck range now offers an impressive new edition. The 1500 Laramie Sport combines all the benefits of a ute, with the comfort, space, and premium finishes of a luxury SUV,” says Todd Groves, Ram Trucks NZ General Sales Manager.

The Laramie Sport is available in three colours, including Bright White, Diamond Black, and Granite Crystal, and can be ordered at your nearest Ram dealership for $154,990.
