– Carbonfibre reboot of the 1990s supercar coming from JAS Motorsport
Italian race car specialist JAS Motorsport is branching into road cars, revealing plans for a stunning Honda NSX restomod designed by Pininfarina and due to be unveiled early next year.
Teaser images suggest the reimagined NSX stays true to the spirit of the 1990 original. It retains signature touches such as pop-up headlights and a subtle rear spoiler, but gains a more aggressive, track-inspired stance. The front reflectors are replaced by modern LED daytime running lights, and a new bonnet duct nods to the second-generation NSX-R. At the rear, an aerodynamic diffuser also channels inspiration from Honda’s racing heritage.

In a major technical leap, the aluminium body of the original will be replaced by a full carbonfibre shell, and JAS will offer both left- and right-hand-drive versions. Power will come from a naturally aspirated V6 paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, with JAS hinting that the engine will be “NSX-inspired”; possibly a heavily reworked version of Honda’s original 3.0-litre unit.

The project marks a shift toward Japanese modern classics entering the restomod scene, which has traditionally been dominated by European and American icons like the Porsche 911 and Ford Mustang.
With collector interest in first-generation NSXs soaring, the JAS x Pininfarina revival could be one of the most exciting reinterpretations of a ‘90s supercar yet.
Full details are expected in early 2026.
