The arrival of Nissan’s fourth-generation X-Trail is edging closer with local pricing and specification for the model now released.

A completely new platform underpins the SUV with the model growing wider and taller than any X-Trail before it.

Power and torque have also been increased to 135kW and 245Nm via a 2.5-litre four-cylinder connected to a CVT transmission. Each trim level will be available with a four-wheel drive option.

The cabin has received a tech fit-out with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen accepting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also wireless phone charging, a 10.3-inch head-up display and a 360-degree view monitor.

Nissan New Zealand will offer the X-Trail in four trim levels including ST, ST-L, Ti-L and the upcoming e-Power model.

ST

Starting off the range is the ST complete with LED lighting front and rear, roof rails, shift-by-wire, high-beam assist, a rear parking camera and sonar among other items. Nissan X-Trail ST comes with 17-inch wheels.

The 8.0-inch infotainment screen features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility while a host of safety features include automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear AEB with pedestrian detection and cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition and active cruise control.

The five-seat ST two-wheel drive is priced at $47,990. The seven-seat ST four-wheel drive is $49,990.

ST-L

Building on the ST model’s equipment, the ST-L introduces ProPilot with lane keep assist, privacy glass, fog lights, a digital around-view monitor, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, sliding rear seats, front parking sensors, synthetic leather trim, 40:20:20 split rear seats and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The five-seat ST-L two-wheel drive is priced at $53,990. The seven-seat ST-L four-wheel drive is $55,990.

Ti-L

Topping the range is the flagship X-Trail Ti-L, featuring a heated steering wheel, Bose 10-speaker sound system, Nappa leather seating with a position memory function, rear sunshades, hands-free tailgate, remote engine start and more.

The Ti-L is only available with five-seats and in four-wheel drive with the model priced at $59,990.

e-Power
