Local LDV and SsangYong distributor sold offshore

LDV and SsangYong distributor Great Lake Motor Distributors has been sold to United Kingdom-based vehicle distributor Inchcape.

The news was confirmed to AutoTalk today (7 June 2023), but details of the acquisition are reportedly being kept quiet until the deal is finalised in the second half of 2023.

“We look forward to sharing more about our expanded operations in due course,” a spokesperson from Inchcape told the automotive news outlet.

Upon purchasing the New Zealand company, Inchcape will begin overseeing it’s local operations which are currently looked after by father and son owners, Rick and Deon Cooper.

Dealerships were reportedly made aware of the news today.

Inchcape currently distributes Subarus in New Zealand via Subaru New Zealand, alongside other marques across the globe like Peugeot and Citroen.
