Hyundai Ioniq 6 N debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Hyundai has revealed the Ioniq 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the fifth in its line-up. The new N model draws from Hyundai’s electric motorsport roots in Pure ETCR. It is also inspired by the need to balance track performance with daily usability. So the Ioniq 6 N exemplifies Hyundai N’s core pillars: Cornering Creds, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar.

Profile shows the streamliner form of the Ioniq 6 remains intact.

With enhanced suspension geometry, updated N e-Shift (simulating gear changes), and refined acoustics through the N Active Sound+ system, the Ioniq 6 N promises to deliver a fun EV driving experience. It blends technology and capability in a car that’s both a hoot on track and comfortable on road.

Electrified Engineering Excellence

System output from its dual motors is 478kW and 770Nm.With launch control it can knock out a 0–100 time of 3.2sec on the way to a top of 257km/h. Supporting this is the N Battery system, fine-tuned for thermal efficiency and quick conditioning. That means it can handle sprints and endurance runs equally well.

A swan-neck rear wing and wider fenders improve stability and downforce. Chassis enhancements include lowered roll centres and electronically controlled suspension (ECS) with stroke sensors. This means broad damping adjustability to suit daily commutes and track sessions. Together, these upgrades offer refined ride comfort and sharp handling.

Advanced Control and Driver Engagement

Central to the Ioniq 6 N’s abilites is a suite of advanced, in-house developed control systems aimed at deepening driver engagement. The N Active Sound+ delivers immersive audio via a stereo system and Acoustic Design Processor, offering three tailored sound modes to match driving mood and style.

So just like the 5 N, only more limo-like..

The N e-Shift system mimics motorsport-style gear changes for greater driver-car connection. It works in association with N Drift Optimizer, N Grin Boost, and N Torque Distribution.

Adding visual drama, the N Ambient Shift Light syncs interior lighting with virtual shift points, enhancing the sensory feedback. Meanwhile, the N Track Manager allows users to record, customise and analyse track performance.

Wide screen baby.

For drift lovers, the N Drift Optimizer enables fine-tuned control over drift behaviour, including initiation, angle, and wheel spin. This means the Ioniq 6 N is as engaging sideways as it is in a straight line.

To complement these features, a dedicated range of N performance parts will be available, allowing drivers to personalise their ride with motorsport-inspired enhancements.

On track and sizzling.

A Festival Debut to Remember

At Goodwood, the Ioniq 6 N took centre stage alongside the 5 N and 5 N TA Spec. A special Hyundai N booth near the Hillclimb starting line offered visitors prime viewing, interactive experiences, and hosting for participants who completed an on-site tour.

After the big burnout.

The Hillclimb itself featured a showcase of Hyundai N’s finest. At the end was a synchronised ‘N Moment’ demo run involving all the N cars, celebrating the brand’s sporting future in electrified performance.
