Czinger 21C: world’s most power-dense internal combustion engine car debuts in London

It’s not often we hear the words “internal combustion engine” and “one thousand horsepower” ushered together in today’s age of electric hypercars but, the Czinger 21C promises just that and more.

The 21C is set to be revealed to the public on June 15 at the inaugural Concours on Saville Row in London with the world’s most power-dense internal combustion engine onboard.

Using both petrol and electric power, the Czinger combines a 2.88-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with an 800-volt electric drive system to produce a peak power output of 919kW.

That power is sent through a seven-speed sequential transaxle gearbox which is then distributed to all four wheels in a car that weighs just 1250kg.

Top speed comes to a mighty 407km/h with a 0 to 100k/h run said to be achievable in just 1.9 seconds.

What’s even more unique about the Czigner is how it’s built. Using a patented human-AI design process, every component of the car is optimised for performance, weight, and packaging.

An example of this is how the front upper control arm is hollow with 3D-printed internal structures allowing it to achieve significant weight savings without affecting performance.

The 21C has already broken the production car lap record at Laguna Seca beating the McLaren Senna by two seconds and at the Circuit of the Americas beating the McLaren P1 by a whopping six seconds.

With just 80 examples being built, the public reveal at Concours on Saville Row is sure to garner the attention it deserves.
