Bentley imagines an electric future with EXP 15

Bentley Motors has unveiled the EXP 15, a design vision that encapsulates the brand’s future while also referencing its Grand Touring heritage.

Another view of the pair. This concept car previewing Bentley's electric future is not for production.

This isn’t the first EXP design exercise. In 2019 the company celebrated 100 years of being with this EXP 100 concept.

Revealed inside Bentley’s new design studio, the latest concept takes cues from the 1930 Speed Six Gurney Nutting “Blue Train” coupe. It combines that historical form with up to the minute materials, lighting, and active aerodynamics. And it also establishes Bentley’s electric design language.

The EXP 15’s presence is anchored by an upright grille, elongated bonnet, and rear-set cabin, highlighted by modern surfacing and LED design. Though not likely to make it to production, the concept hints at elements Bentley will introduce in upcoming models, including its first EV.

Lots of aero going on here, as expected of an electric GT.

Lighting and aero tech elevate Bentley’s signature diamond motif. Ultra-thin LED headlight strips frame the front, while rear light units, active spoilers, and aero diffusers blend functionality with art. Air vents and intricate side graphics provide additional flair.

Nice for some dogs. Pampered pooch.

Inside, EXP 15 reveals a radically reimagined three-seat cabin, designed using virtual reality to explore customisation possibilities. A driver-side door opens to the cockpit and rear passenger seat, while the passenger side features twin coach doors and a pivoting front seat for effortless entry. The seat adapts to various positions – Co-pilot, Standard, or Relax – and reveals hidden storage below. The boot can transform into a luxury lounge with picnic seating, a lamp, and a chilled drinks compartment.

Now that's a polo set-up. Not sure about the drinking and driving concept though.

Materials express both heritage and luxury. Traditional textiles like a damson-dyed 100 per cent wool meet titanium 3D-printed finishes. Gainsborough contributes a silk rear textile, paired with a an acrylic mesh, creating special visual effects.

Interior concepts include sweeping dashboard lines, canopy-like seat surrounds, knurled metalwork and quilted patterns. The dashboard morphs from a wide digital screen to a natural wood surface when not in use. Its centrepiece is a kinetic sculpture that relays information with elegance.

Clear coupe style roof going on here.

The concept’s paintwork, dubbed Pallas Gold, uses aluminium pigments that result in a shimmering surface.

Technically, EXP 15 is imagined as fully electric, with long-range capability and all-wheel drive. The vehicle affirms Bentley’s commitment to sustainable Grand Touring without compromising on luxury or performance.

You're not going to miss seeing that grille.

While the EXP 15 borrows spirit and proportions from the 1930 Blue Train coupe, it is no retro replica. Instead, it acts as a creative blueprint, combining design nostalgia with modern digital, material, and experiential innovations that preview Bentley’s journey into an all-electric, ultra-luxury future.

Looks big enough in profile, in part because of large wheels.
Not a light bar but almost two of them.
Diamond shapes for the grille and slit-like lights.
Certainly a bold design, reminding slightly of Jaguar's forthcoming electric GT.
