With the help of The Little Car Company, Bentley has recreated its iconic Blower in the form of downsized EV that you can take on the street.

To the keen-eyed among you, the Blower Jnr, as it’s officially known, is an 85 per cent scale version of the British carmaker’s 1929 4.5-litre ‘Blower’ Bentley which was the fastest race car of its hay day. The miniaturised version is also the only model The Little Car Company makes that is road legal.

While it may be smaller, measuring 3.7 metres long and 1.5 metres wide, there’s still enough room for two adults, with the driver getting central driving position up front, while the passenger sits behind.

Much of the Blower Jnr’s design remains faithful to the original, with its frame being made from steel, riding on scaled-down leaf springs and friction dampers. However, you’ll be pleased to know that the brakes are modern Brembo disc units up front and drums at the rear.

The bodywork has been crafted in two sections, with the rear structure being made from carbon fibre and the bonnet from hand-crafted aluminium.

A vehicle charging port can be found where the original car’s supercharger is located underneath the mesh grille.

Inside, the fuel pressure pump has been turned into a drive mode selector which allows the driver to choose from ‘Comfort’, ‘Bentley’ and ‘Sport’ settings, with each incrementally increasing in power. There’s even a dsiguised USB charging port and a dual-function display that doubles as a sat-nav and reversing camera.

The little Bentley has been built around a 48V electric powertrain that features a rear axle-mounted 15kW motor, fed by a 10.8kWh battery that allows for 105km of driving range.

In terms of performance, the Blower Jnr can reach a top speed of 72km/h, but only in the United Kingdom and Europe as the American version has been legislated to 40km/h.

The Little Car Company plans to make 99 examples of the model in First Edition guise, with each getting special badging and a Blower Green paint job. The First Editions will also get a hand-painted Union Jack flag on either side in reference to the original car.

Production of the Bentley Blower Jnr will begin in the second quarter of 2024.
