Alfa Romeo Stelvio set to go electric in 2025, Giulia in 2026

Alfa Romeo has confirmed that the successors of both the Stelvio SUV and Giulia sedan will be fully electric models come their respective launches in 2025 and 2026.

The news comes a month before the Italian carmaker peels the covers back off its first EV, the Milano, which is set to get the ball rolling for the brand to go all electric in 2027.

2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

Both the new Stelvio and Giulia will be based on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, the same electric architecture that underpins the newly revealed Dodge Charger, meaning we can expect a battery capacity of up to 100kWh (93.9kWh usable).

Depending on what powertrains Alfa decides to go with, it’s possible both models could achieve a range of up to 510km.

Unlike the Charger, which uses a 400V electric architecture, the Alfas are said to use 800V, meaning they’ll likely boast faster charging times and weigh less.

2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio

The electric Stelvio and Giulia are also said to debut Stellantis’ new ‘STLA Brain’ software that allows both cars to receive over-the-air updates. In addition, they’ll also be equipped with a new artificial intelligence-powered infotainment system called ‘STLA SmartCockpit’.

Both electric Alfa Romeos will be produced at the Cassino manufacturing plant in Italy alongside one or more new models from Maserati, according to British publication Autocar.
