Polestar Takes the Knife to its Polestar 2 Pricing

Polestar is another to slash the pricing on its EVs in New Zealand as demand for zero-emissions vehicles continues at a low ebb. The car maker has culled $25,000 from the price of new preconfigured 2023 Polestar 2. This follows recent price reduction announcements from Nissan, Fiat and MG, amongst others. The Polestar special pricing is for unregistered vehicles and does not include ORCs.

The standard-range single-motor Polestar 2 models now start at $54,990 (formerly $79,990), and there’s $5000 cash back on top of that. They are fitted with adaptive cruise control and LKA, parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. Claimed range is 546km from the 69kWh battery and the rear-mounted motor is good for 200kW/490Nm of output.

Polestar 2 models from 2023 - out the door they go at marked down prices.

The long-range single-motor model is now $61,990 +$5k cash back (was $86,990), with the Plus pack installed. This has a stronger motor, 220kW/490Nm and a larger 82kWh battery (from 69kWh), for up to 655km of driving range.

The long-range dual-motor model is down from $96,990 to $71,990 (with $5k cash back). It has system power of 310kW/740Nm and all-wheel drive offering 593km of range. This has the Pilot lite pack added.

The Plus model was originally $104,990 and is now $79,990 with a $5k cash back offer.

Finally, the fully specced long-range dual-motor Performance models are all down to $89,990 (were $114,990) plus the cash back deal.

All of the 2024 Polestar 2 models get the $5k cash back deal only.

Polestar’s discounts put the 2023 Polestar 2 in the thick of Tesla Model 3 pricing ($63,900-$84,900 for the Performance model).
