The local arm of Mercedes-Benz has today announced that the updated A-Class line-up has arrived in New Zealand showrooms for 2024, bringing with it more standard features than ever before.

From this day forward, all models sold locally will feature a panoramic sunroof, AMG Line interior and exterior, metallic paint, electric memory seats, keyless entry and ignition, active cruise control, and a 360-degree camera.

The A-Class will only be offered as a hatchback in New Zealand from now on too, but a limited number of sedans are for sale while stocks last.

In terms of styling changes, the front grille now features a star pattern and flat headlights, while the rear is adorned with an updated diffuser and LED taillights. All A-Class variants will receive a new set of multi-spoke gloss black light-alloy wheels as part of the AMG Line too.

Inside, the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz’ MBUX infotainment system can be accessed through the 10.25-inch central touchscreen, while the driver gets a 10.25-inch display featuring new display styles for all relevant vehicle information.

Occupants can connect their devices to the car wirelessly via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as before, but they can now do the same with a wired USB.

The mild hybrid powertrains found in the A 250 4Matic and Mercedes-AMG A 35 4Matic have been updated too, with the 48V system now providing 10kW more power when starting off.

Several updates have been made to the appearance of the A 35 4Matic, including revised front and rear lights, an AMG-specific front grille, a new round AMG badge on the bonnet, and a new wheel design. An AMG Performance steering wheel can be found inside as well.

When it comes to pricing, the line-up starts with the A 200 hatch for $71,900, followed by the 4Matic variant for $81,900, while the A 200 sedan is priced at $73,400.

As for the A 35 4Matic hatch, it’ll set you back $103,900, or if you go for the sedan, $100,400.

The A 45 S 4Matic+ is also on offer, having been introduced late last year. Pricing for the top-of-the-range model comes to $127,900.
