Zeekr MIX electric MPV launching soon in China

Words NZ Autocar | Images Zeekr

Zeekr has released official images of its forthcoming MIX MPV ahead of the car’s expected launch in Q4. It is one of the models that is apparently heading downunder. According to Zeekr, the name MIX relates to fusion, and the car is aimed at families.

Double sliding doors on the other side are an unusual feature.

Official pictures show some differences from the version previously shown. For example, the door handles are no longer hidden but semi-concealed. Moreover, the front light clusters are not dark tinged, the lights themselves being clear.

A compact MPV, the Zeekr MIX features abbreviated overhangs. It has LxWxH dimensions of 4688, 1995 and 1755mm, while the wheelbase is 3008mm. The vehicle utilises a version of Geely’s SEA platform.

While it is unclear how many seats the final Zeekr MIX has, it would appear to be between four and six, with two versions seemingly having five seats. The four-seater is a luxury version with captain’s seats and a movable island console.

Powering the minivan is a 310kW motor driving the rear axle, and top speed is a claimed 180km/h. The 77kWh lithium-ion battery pack is of the NCM type from CATL. Vehicle range is around 550km. Weights for the two versions listed are 2639kg and 2739kg, while buyers can choose 19- or 20-inch wheels.

High-spec versions feature Lidar. At the front, the car has the Stargate headlight cluster composed of 1711 high-power LEDs, as found on the Zeekr 007.

The MIX is unusual in that it does not have a B-pillar. On the passenger side are double sliding doors, while on the driver’s side there is one sliding door. Moreover, the front seats can swivel so the seat belt is part of the seat itself rather than attaching to the B pillar.
