Set to spearhead Jaguar’s rebranding into an all-electric luxury marque, the so-called I-Type was initially meant to be unveiled before the end of 2025, but according to the brand’s Managing Director, this isn’t happening anymore.
First revealed in December 2024, the Type 00 hinted at Jaguar’s bold new design strategy, and gave the world the first look of what to expect of this upcoming electric grand tourer.

Speaking in an interview with ABC News, Rawdon Glover revealed that the upcoming electric grand tourer will now be shown to the world in 2026, with deliveries set to commence not long afterwards.
According to Glover, this delay isn’t due to a redesign — something which had been rumoured ever since the British brand received widespread backlash online following the concept’s unveiling.
Others have speculated this delay is down to a recent cyber attack, which shut down Jaguar Land Rover’s production plants for a month earlier this year.
Despite delaying the unveiling, Glover seemed confident that the cars will still hit the road by the end of 2026, retaining the tail end of the initial roadmap.

Alongside speaking on the EV’s delay, Glover mentioned the electric coupe will be priced around USD$130,000 in the US. Though we can’t convert prices directly from this, it is an indication that it will likely be a competitor to the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT.
Jaguar’s electric GT will offer almost 700km of range and the ability to add 320km of range in 15 minutes. Its battery pack size is likely to be over 100kWh, though no details are yet to hand.
