Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS honed for 2025

Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled its updated Speed Triple 1200 RS for 2025. As if it wasn’t already potent enough, now it has more grunt along with added rider-focused technology. The riding position is a bit more relaxed and upright too. Expect it here in March.

To the heart of the matter, Triumph’s 1160cc triple engine now delivers 183PS (135kW) at 10,750 rpm and 128Nm at 8750 rpm. That’s 3PS and 3Nm more than before. A new free-flow exhaust system contributes to the power up. An option is a titanium Akrapovič silencer.

A revised crankshaft balancing strategy is said to produce a significant improvement in engine refinement.

There are now five distinct riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track, Rider). Cornering ABS, switchable Cornering Traction Control, and the Triumph up/down quickshifter are fitted as standard. So the Speed Triple has the necessary safety features to optimise performance and safety in all conditions.

Featuring the latest  Öhlins SmartEC3 semi-active suspension (continuously adjustable damping) and a roadster riding position, the new Speed is even more agile and controlled than before. Brembo Stylema calipers counter the headlong rush. New lightweight wheels reduce gyroscopic forces for faster turn in and greater agility. Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres are at home on the racetrack while being fully legal on road.

A new lightweight lithium-ion battery helps keep wet weight at just under 200kg. The updated Speed Triple comes with slightly wider, higher bars and an even more aggressive design. It retains the signature twin headlights and single-sided swingarm. A new seat cowl sharpens the rear end of the bike.

The new riding position mixes agility and control for more precise handling and ride comfort. A standard-fit steering damper is user adjustable.

New technology includes the Öhlins Objective Based Tuning Interface (OBTi). This permits riders to adjust the suspension’s dynamic damping characteristics for different riding scenarios. Several parameters are adjustable, including front and rear firmness, and braking and acceleration support.

There is also new Front Wheel Lift Control, Engine Braking Control and Brake Slide Control, as well as standard cruise control.

A TFT instrument interface provides instant access to all key information, while the My Triumph Connectivity System enables turn-by-turn navigation, along with phone and music control.

The ignition, steering lock and fuel filler cap feature keyless operation on the RS.

Customers can choose from three colours, including Jet Black, Granite and Diablo Red, or Granite and Performance Yellow. There are 25 accessories available.
