Triumph Adds Extra Fun Factor to Trident 660

New tech, suspension and colours are coming to the 2025 Triumph Trident 660. The middleweight roadster will also be available here in both full power and LAMS editions. So in that regard it will be similar to the recently introduced Daytona 660 pair.

See me go on my Triumph Trident 660.

As the only three-cylinder offering in the LAMS class, the Trident 660 is at the pointy end of performance for learners, and mixes that with confident handling and braking. Updated retro-modern styling is now paired with added rider-focused technology.

So getting down here, almost scraping nothing whatsoever.

In response to customer demand, the Trident 660 now features Cornering ABS and Cornering Traction Control, along with Triumph Shift Assist (quickshifter) and cruise control. These are now all standard fit items. The integrated TFT display and MyTriumph Bluetooth Connectivity system give riders turn-by-turn navigation, calls and music control. There are now also three rider modes, including a new Sport mode.

What Sport mode is for aye?

TRIPLE ADVANTAGE

The full-power Trident’s 60kW/64Nm three-cylinder engine delivers strength across the rev range. The LAMS edition delivers 40kW and 59Nm. Over 90 per cent of peak torque arrives between 3600rpm and 9750rpm for the former model. This means strong low-down pull, effective midrange grunt and high-rev ability, like an IL4, all with a distinctive triple soundtrack. Triumph’s now standard Shift Assist allows seamless up and down gear changes without using the clutch. Cruise Control is included to reduce rider fatigue. A new ‘Sport’ mode gives even more responsive performance from the triple engine.

Beautiful new paints schemes for the update Trident 660.

ASSURED HANDLING

Trident’s neutral and easy handling is key to its appeal.

Easy handling for Trident 660.

The Trident 660’s Showa 41mm upside down forks are now upgraded with ‘big piston’ damping for added comfort and control. There’s also a preload adjustable Showa monoshock, Nissin brakes with twin 310mm discs, and Michelin Road 5 tyres. Wet weight is a claimed 216kg.

There's a pair of these for confident stopping power under cornering ABS control.

RIDER FOCUSED TECHNOLOGY

New for 2025, the Trident 660 comes with Cornering ABS and Cornering Traction Control, unique in the sector. Using a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to calculate lean angle, brake pressure and throttle position, the system continuously monitors and adjusts engine and braking parameters to ensure optimum performance and safety while braking and accelerating in corners.

One dial oversees all, with full-colour TFT screen.

A full-colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity adds turn-by-turn navigation and full phone functionality for rider convenience. Other technology includes a circular LED headlight and self-cancelling indicators.

UNIQUE STYLING

The Trident features retro-modern styling. For 2025 there are three new colour and graphics schemes. Cosmic Yellow, Cobalt Blue, and Diablo Red are complemented by touches of Sapphire Black and diagonal white stripes. There is also a more subtle Jet Black colour scheme. Other updates include a new forged aluminum top yoke and forged aluminium brake pedal.

EASILY CUSTOMISABLE

There are 45 genuine Triumph accessories available. Items are for added protection, comfort, styling, luggage and security. Included are heated grips and scrolling indicators, and a tail pack, tank bag and flyscreen.

Because you can never have enough cornering shots with any motorcycle.

A restrictor kit makes the Trident 660 LAMS legal. When the owner progresses to a full licence, the dealer can restore full power.

ON THE ROAD

Triumph prides itself on low cost of ownership. Service intervals are set at 16,000km, while there’s a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

Pricing will be available closer to the time of arrival which is yet to be finalised.
