Trade Me has appointed Brendan Hall as its new Head of Motors and also as a member of its executive leadership team.
Brendan joins the team with a strong background in online classifieds. He has held senior roles at Carsales.com.au and Amazon Australia.
Hall was one of the earliest hires at Amazon Australia. There he was responsible for launching and growing its third-party marketplace business.

At Carsales, he was the General Manager of Digital Retailing and a member of the Country Leadership Team. This meant he had direct experience in Australia’s largest automotive marketplace.
In his most recent role, he led Technology in New Zealand and Digital Product across Australia and New Zealand for BP’s Mobility and Convenience business.
Brendan is active on Trade Me and is keen to meet with valued dealer partners and customers.
“I’m looking forward to building on the great work the team has already done, getting closer to our customers, and continuing to create value for both buyers and sellers,” he says.
Drawing on his experience leading technology and digital product functions, Brendan will also prioritise the delivery of timely insights to dealers and build wider relationships with broader industry partners.
Brendan’s appointment comes as former Head of Trade Me Motors, Jeremy Wade, moves into a new role within the wider Trade Me team.
Hall’s appointment reflects Trade Me’s continued focus on the Motors area. It represents a significant portion of the platform’s classified advertising revenue.
His experience at Carsales.com.au, which operates a similar business model across the Tasman, means he has a deep understanding of the automotive marketplace operations in the region.
