Toyota New Zealand has launched a recall campaign affecting 9259 vehicles to address a software issue in the instrument cluster, known as the combination meter.
The models included in the recall are the Camry, C-HR, Corolla, GR Corolla, Corolla Cross, Highlander, and RAV4, with build dates ranging from July 2022 to November 2024.

While Toyota says this is a precautionary move, it involves a full reprogramming of the digital display system within the instrument panel. The work will be carried out free of charge by Toyota dealerships and is expected to take up to three hours.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand via mail, using registration information. An online lookup tool is also available at toyota.co.nz/owners/recall, allowing drivers to check their registration number and see if their vehicle is included.

Although no specific safety risk has been publicly detailed, instrument cluster faults can affect the visibility of important information such as speed, fuel level, and warning lights.
If you think your car might be affected, you can contact Toyota on 0800 TOYOTA (0800 869 682) for more details.
