Images of a new Corolla have surfaced online, brandishing the new family look of recent Toyota releases, like Prius.

The images came from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), showing a new version of the global favourite. Being as the images are out of China, it is no surprise that they show the sedan version.
The new Corolla features a sharper front end, like that of the electric C-HR+ and bZ4X, and also the new Prius hybrid.
There are also slimmer headlights, a more angular nose, and a simple bumper design with a minimalist grille. The tail-lights are also different while there are probably new wheel designs too.

It’s unclear when the updated Corolla will have its official unveiling. It is also possible that this new version will be going just to China, and perhaps to sedan-oriented markets around the world.
There have been 12 generations of the Toyota Corolla to date, the latest launched in 2019. It underwent a mid-life tweak in 2023, and was further updated this year with mechanical changes that included a revised hybrid powertrain.
Whether or not there will be a 13th generation of Corolla is unclear but consider it likely given its ongoing global sales. Since the extant model is now six years old, a successor cannot be far away.
