Toyota New Zealand has released pricing for its range of Corolla Cross hybrid models due for release in late 2022.

It was announced in July that all Toyota Corollas sold in New Zealand will be electrified with hybrid powertrains being the focus. And this includes the Corolla Cross, becoming the brand’s newest entrant into the popular SUV segment.

The entry-level GX Hybrid is priced at $41,990 followed by the $44,990 GXL Hybrid and $48,990 Limited Hybrid.

The three models feature a hybridised 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that supplies the front wheels with 135kW and 190Nm of torque and achieve a fuel consumption of 4.8L/100km.

At the top of the range is the $51,990 Limited Hybrid (E-Four AWD) powered by the same hybrid system as the rest of the range although it drives all four wheels and comes with a larger 43-litre fuel tank.

While producing the same power figures, the all-wheel drive model is slightly less fuel efficient at 4.9L per 100km traveled, likely due to the added weight of the powertrain.

Each trim level will come with an estimated clean car rebate of $3108 (TBC) apart from the Limited Hybrid (E-Four AWD) which takes $2851 (TBC) off the price.

The main difference between each grade is the interior and technology fit-out. The GX comes standard with bluetooth, voice recognition, satellite navigation, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which can also be found on the higher specced trims.

Stepping up into the GXL provides occupants with a larger 10.5-inch touchscreen display, LED headlights and fog lights, and roof rails.

In the Limited trims, audio is upgraded to a nine speaker JBL system while seating is clad with leather accents including eight way power adjustment and heating. Driver instrumentation is handled by a 12.3-inch digital display. The exterior also gets larger 18-inch wheels.

Each model also features the Toyota Safety Sense system which includes dynamic cruise control, road sign assist, automatic high-beam and pre-collision system with automatic emergency braking among other features.
