Sunday Drive is hosting an auction at this year’s Ayburn Classic, and as you can imagine the precious metal going under the hammer reflects the calibre of vehicle the event is known for.
In 2026, the Ayrburn Classic will take place over the weekend of February 20th to the 22nd, with the inaugural auction falling on February 21.

Currently there are eleven listings set to be sold at the event, but Sunday Drive notes there is space for up to 40 vehicles to be sold here.
Though it isn’t the most expensive, arguably the most interesting lot is a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette or an N2A 789.

Based on a Chevrolet C6 Corvette, this custom machine blends classic styling with modern comfort and performance.
Sunday Drive has this lot tipped to sell between $225,000 and $280,000 when the hammer drops.

A 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL is tipped to fetch the highest price when the hammer drops, with its auction estimate falling between $280,000 and $350,000.
The listing notes this example has been “expertly restored by the world-renowned Lloyd Marx”, and has reportedly covered around 38,000km in its life.

There are also a plethora of beautifully restored classic American machines, ranging from the 1930s through to the 1960s.
Highlights of this bunch include a pink 1956 Chevrolet Belair, a 1948 Packard Custom Eight Convertible Coupe, a 1939 Ford Roadster, and a 1956 Lincoln Continental.
