Auckland’s car scene is getting a major shake-up this week with the launch of the Sunday Drive Showroom & Auction Village; described as a bold new motoring destination that ‘promises to be unlike anything New Zealand has seen before’.

Located at 22 Stonedon Drive, Highbrook in Auckland, the complex officially opens its doors today (16 October) between 5–8pm, with a special launch night.

Visitors can expect a showroom more akin to a film set than a car yard they tell us, complete with a full-size helicopter from a Hollywood movie, a vintage Shell petrol station, a Las Vegas motel, and a New York-style sports bar.

On display will be more than $4 million worth of classic and performance cars, around 150 vehicles in total, all of which will go under the hammer at Sunday Drive’s October Classic & Performance Live Auction on Sunday, 19 October at 2pm.

The opening event will also feature a special appearance from Warriors star Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (DWZ), who will be on-site for photos, autographs, and meet-and-greets with fans. Food and drinks will be complimentary for registered bidders and vendors.

“This is something completely new for New Zealand — a retail spectacle for car fans, movie buffs, and anyone who loves an experience,” said Taylor Campbell, Director of Sunday Drive. “We want people to see these cars and this space before the auction kicks off.”

High-octane auction action
Sunday’s auction will see New Zealand’s top auctioneers take the stage in what organisers are calling “the country’s coolest car showroom.” The lineup features a diverse mix of vehicles, from classic icons to modern performance machines, including a no-reserve Subaru WRX Type R.
Bidding is open to in-person, online, and phone participants, with full catalogues and registration details available at sundaydrive.co.nz/auctions.
