Pricing and specification for the incoming Subaru Solterra have at last been announced, ahead of the fully electric SUV’s arrival in New Zealand this December.

The new model will be offered in two variants, with pricing for the standard Solterra starting the duo off at $79,990, meaning it’s eligible for the government’s full Clean Car Discount rebate.

What you get for your money is a fully electric adventure-ready five-seater, fitted with a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat, front seat heaters, and a powered rear tailgate.

Subaru will also offer the more highly-appointed Touring variant for $84,990, which adds 20-inch alloy wheels, wireless phone charging, memory driver and passenger seats, leather upholstery, Harman Kardon speakers, as well as heated steering wheel and rear seats.

A two-tone exterior colour option is also available on the Touring, bringing its total price up to $85,990.

Both models are powered by a dual-motor set-up producing 160kW but boast different range figures with the standard Solterra reaching up to 465km on a single charge, while the Touring variant can travel 414km.

Other standard features on each Solterra include a new Grip Control function and the X-Mode AWD control system, both of which are said to stabilise the vehicle on and off the beaten path.

“With Solterra pre-orders already filling up fast, now is the time to make sure you have one secured because initial stock of both variants will be limited,” says Wallis Dumper, Managing Director of Inchcape New Zealand and Subaru of New Zealand.

“We cannot wait to see the first Solterras heading home with Kiwi owners in December.”
