Motorsport fans in New Zealand and around the world will have unprecedented access to the Repco NextGen NZ Championship this summer, with organisers announcing an expanded global broadcast package for the 2025/26 season.
The six-round national series kicks off with the Alliance Services Hampton Downs International from October 31 to November 2, with Sky Sport New Zealand confirmed as the official local broadcaster.
Coverage will air across Sky Sport NZ and Sky Sport Now, fronted by renowned motorsport commentator Greg Rust, alongside broadcaster Richard Craill, who joins the team full-time this season. Kiwi racers Andrew Waite and Ronan Murphy will also return to the commentary lineup, expanding on their 2024/25 roles.
“We’re proud to confirm our partnership with the home of live sport on New Zealand Television, Sky Sport NZ,” said David Tunnicliffe – Head of Broadcast, Repco NextGen NZ Championship.
“Their commitment to the championship is a vote of confidence in the Repco NextGen NZ Championship and the quality broadcast product we showcased throughout the debut season last summer – which will only get better this year.
“Coverage on Sky Sport will be coupled with global coverage via a new YouTube Channel and motorsport.tv.
“Our on-air team is the best in the business and we’re excited about what we have planned for this summer.”
Global coverage confirmed
International audiences will be able to follow the action through live streaming on the new Repco NextGen NZ Championship YouTube channel, as well as the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand channel. This includes every session of the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy in January, ensuring worldwide coverage for fans of the Southern Hemisphere’s premier open-wheel series.
The entire championship will also be streamed on motorsport.tv, with Australian-specific broadcast details to be confirmed soon.
In total, more than 70 hours of live coverage will be broadcast across the six rounds, highlighting the growth of the Repco-backed series since its debut season.
Toyota GAZOO Racing NZ renews partnership
The Repco NextGen NZ Championship also confirmed TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand will continue as its major broadcast commercial partner for the 2025/26 season.
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing NZ has been a key supporter since the series’ inception, and its continued backing ensures the presence of two cornerstone categories, the Bridgestone GR86 Championship and the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy, both of which will feature throughout the season.
These classes serve as crucial stepping stones for emerging Kiwi and international talent, continuing New Zealand’s strong tradition of developing future motorsport stars.
With expanded broadcast reach, a world-class commentary team, and backing from major industry partners, the 2025/26 Repco NextGen NZ Championship is shaping up to be the biggest and most accessible season yet for fans both at home and abroad.
