April 17, 2024

Piaggio, established in 1884, turns 140 soon and Vespa is celebrating this birthday with a special edition known as the Vespa 140th of Piaggio.

Not only is it a limited edition (just 140 units, naturally) but it will also be available for four days only, from 18 to 21 April, coinciding with the Vespa World Days 2024 rally. It can be ordered on line at Vespa.com or at the Vespa Village in Pontedera during the rally.

The special model is based on the Vespa Gtv base, with its low headlight and exposed tubular handlebar.

The special version is characterised by blue and light blue on a white body, the Piaggio Group’s colours. There’s a new Vespa monogram, as well as the celebratory 140 years logo.

The seat is blue with double stitching. A rear saddle cover comes as standard. Wheel rims are also blue with light blue inserts. The aesthetics of the Vespa 140th of Piaggio are completed by the black finishes of the body profiles, the mirrors, the silencer, and the fold-away passenger footrests.

Each unit will be identified by a numbered plate located on the rear shield, also featuring the 140-years logo.

The special scooter is powered by the 300 hpe (High Performance Engine) single-cylinder engine that creates 18kW, making it the most potent Vespa yet. The light clusters are full LED, including the low headlight. Circular instrumentation is now digital, facilitating the integration of the optional Vespa MIA connectivity system.

The scooter is keyless too. On the safety front, there’s standard traction control and ABS braking.

Accessories include a rear leather bag, front and rear luggage carriers, a windscreen and crash bars.
