Peugeot previews next 208 with futuristic Polygon concept

by Andrew Sluys
November 5, 2025

Peugeot has given the world its first glimpse of what to expect from the next-generation 208 with the radical new Polygon concept.

Described by the French brand as having a “feline futuristic design”, it’s clear that whatever the new 208 will be — it’s quite a departure from the current styling.

Peugeot also revealed that this new 208 will be unveiled in full on November 13 (or November 12 in France).

As is the case with most concepts, it’s likely the production version of the 208 will be toned down, but still share a number of styling cues with the Polygon.

The same goes for the interior, but it is noted that the ‘Hypersquare’ rectangular-shaped steering wheel is a near-production version.

The same goes for the infotainment screen, which is a 21-inch “floating” display, which will likely be similar to the curved unit currently used in the 3008.

This upcoming 208 will also use Stellantis’ new steer-by-wire system, making it the first vehicle under the brand’s umbrella to do so.

It’s also likely this new 208 will be exclusively electric, as it shares the STLA small platform with the upcoming Vauxhall Corsa, which has been confirmed to be battery powered.

In saying this, the STLA small platform can accommodate both hybrid and electric powertrains, so there is a chance Peugeot ships it with a gas-burner as well.

Following its unveiling next week, deliveries of this Peugeot 208 are expected to start at the end of 2026.
