Hyundai New Zealand ambassador Hayden Paddon and co-driver John Kennard have claimed another commanding ARC victory. This time it was at the Middle of Everywhere Gippsland Rally in Victoria. That makes it three wins in a row for the pair in the 2025 Australian Rally Championship (ARC).

Behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 N WRC2, the Kiwi pairing stamped their authority on the endurance-format event. They won nine of the opening ten stages. They finished with a decisive margin of 1 minute and 7 seconds over Australian rivals Harry Bates and Coral Taylor. Paddon and Kennard capped the performance with victory in the Power Stage, earning maximum championship points.

“Hayden and John continue to show incredible consistency and speed.” said Leighton Agnew, General Manager Sales of Hyundai New Zealand.
“To win three straight events in such a competitive championship, and to do it with the dominance we saw in Gippsland, is a huge credit to their teamwork and the performance of the Hyundai i20 N WRC2.
“We’re proud to see them representing New Zealand and the Hyundai brand on the international stage.”

The victory builds further momentum for Paddon and Kennard, who head into the final rounds of the ARC well placed in the championship battle. It also adds to their impressive record following a standout 2024 season. Paddon secured his second consecutive FIA European Rally Championship title, another New Zealand Rally Championship crown, and multiple international rally wins.
“The night stages here in Gippsland were some of the best we’ve done in a long time,” said Paddon. “Driving in the dark adds another dimension. It’s a real challenge with pace notes and concentration but also hugely rewarding. We’re really happy with the performance all weekend and to take maximum points is a perfect outcome.”
The ARC continues with the Copyworld Adelaide Hills Rally in South Australia from 4–6 October, where Paddon and Kennard will look to extend their winning streak.
