One of NZ’s largest Toyota gatherings set for next weekend

One of the country’s largest gatherings of Toyotas is set to return to Hampton Downs next weekend come the 2024 Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival, welcoming all owners and enthusiasts alike.

Set to take place on Saturday 9 March, this year’s event will see the return of the ‘Club Drift’ activity which gives drivers of all skill levels a chance to put their sliding skills to the test on the track’s club circuit.

D1NZ Champion and Formula Drift USA driver Darren Kelly will also be present on the day to manage the drift sessions, with each being 15 minutes long.

As seen at previous events, other activities include a wet skid pan competition, Show and Shine Competition, track sessions, and a four-wheel drive experience.

At midday, all Toyota and Lexus vehicles on the day will be welcome to head out on track for a slow cruise behind a pace car until all cars come to a stop on the main straight for a photo.

Registrations are currently open for the 2024 Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival, with pricing and booking information outlined here. Car entrants must register before Tuesday 5 March.
