– Only three cars available for New Zealand buyers
CTB Performance and RTR Vehicles have unveiled the 2026 Mustang RTR Spec 5, the most powerful and exclusive Mustang ever offered in New Zealand. Just three examples will be built for local buyers.

Based on the seventh-generation Mustang GT, the RTR Spec 5 is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 equipped with a 3.0-litre Whipple Supercharger, delivering a massive 870+ horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is paired with an RTR by Borla active exhaust, tuned by drift legend Vaughn Gittin Jr., providing an aggressive soundtrack to match its performance credentials.
While engineered for track precision, the NZ-spec RTR Spec 5 includes practical touches suited for local roads — most notably a front axle lift system that raises the nose by 50mm to clear driveways and speed bumps without compromising aerodynamics. The chassis is fine-tuned by RTR engineers, featuring a 30-way adjustable Tactical Performance Suspension System, coilovers, adjustable sway bars, and height-adjustable springs for perfect balance between comfort and control.

Aerodynamics are enhanced through RTR’s first fully integrated widebody and carbon-composite system, including carbon-fibre splitters, rocker panels, quarter extensions, and wake towers. The seamless fitment eliminates exposed hardware, giving the Spec 5 a factory-grade finish with motorsport-inspired aggression.
Design, detail, and customisation
Each car is built to order and can be finished in RTR’s Extended Colour Palette, or buyers can choose from premium or paint-to-sample finishes. Customers receive a digital render of their build, while paint-to-sample buyers are provided with a physical “speed shape” sample before final approval.
The Spec 5 rides on 20-inch forged aluminium Aero 5 Evo wheels, available in Forged Charcoal, Podium Champagne, or Vapor Silver, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres (305/30R20 front, 315/30R20 rear). Braking is handled by Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers with two-piece front rotors.

Inside, the cabin combines luxury with motorsport flair. RTR leather Recaro Sport Seats feature cool grey bolsters and black suede inserts inspired by the Ford GT, while each car receives a serialized dash plaque signed by Gittin Jr., an RTR Performance shift knob, bespoke floor mats, and a certificate of authenticity. The Electronic Drift Brake, co-developed with professional drifter Chelsea DeNofa and Ford, adds a new layer of driver engagement.
How much does the 2026 Mustang RTR Spec 5 cost in NZ?
Production for New Zealand is capped at just three units, each priced from $298,000 plus on-road costs. The figure includes the base Mustang GT, RTR upgrade package, and GST. All cars will be sold through authorised Ford dealerships, with CTB Performance coordinating directly with Ford’s retail network for customer delivery.
Buyers will also receive five years of unlimited-kilometre warranty coverage, backed jointly by Ford New Zealand, CTB Performance, and RTR Vehicles.
