Nissan has confirmed that the next-generation Navara will make its global debut on November 19 in Australia.
To mark the occasion, the brand has released a heritage film depicting nearly four decades of Navara history from its debut in 1986 as a rugged workhorse to its evolution into a modern, lifestyle-focused pickup.
The short film, part of Nissan’s “Defy Ordinary” campaign, highlights the Navara’s long-standing connection to Australian and New Zealand life. Since arriving Down Under, more than 420,000 Navaras have been sold across the region.
“For nearly 40 years, Navara has been writing its story alongside Australia’s own evolution,” said Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director of Nissan Oceania. “Every generation has learned from the previous one, and every Australian customer has taught us something about what matters most in a ute.”
The film traces how customer feedback and local experience have shaped each successive Navara, laying the foundation for the new model. Nissan says the 2026 Navara will balance heritage-inspired design with advanced technology and capability, built to meet the demands of both work and lifestyle buyers.
While details of the new ute remain under wraps, Nissan has confirmed the new Navara has been developed with Australian and New Zealand conditions in mind, drawing on feedback from generations of owners.
It’s also known that the 2026 Navara is closely related to the Triton, as part of a joint-development project led by Mitsubishi. It will also be built by Mitsubishi for Nissan.
The global reveal will take place on 19 November 2025, with the model expected to go on sale in Australia and New Zealand in the first half of 2026.
