Jeep has officially revealed the third-generation Jeep Compass, with more rugged styling, various electrified powertrain options and the brand’s off-road prowess.
The new Jeep Compass arrives with an exterior redesign and a significantly more premium interior. The design takes cues from the smaller Jeep Avenger but also pays subtle tribute to the brand’s 4×4 heritage. Jeep says this version will be “a key driver for Jeep growth,” particularly in Europe, where compact SUVs represent a quarter of all car sales and are fast trending toward electrification.

Built on the STLA Medium platform shared with the likes of the Peugeot 3008 and Citroën C5 Aircross, the new Compass sets itself apart with more of a focus on off-road engineering. Unique to the Compass is increased ground clearance (up to 200mm) and shortened overhangs that enhance approach (20 degrees), breakover (15 degrees), and departure (26 degrees) angles. Every model comes equipped with selectable drive modes operated via a chunky red rotary dial.

At 4548mm long, the Compass grows 150mm over its predecessor while boasting a wheelbase of 2795mm (plus 159mm) translating into a roomier cabin with an extra 55mm of legroom in both rows. Inside there is a 10.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 16.0-inch central touchscreen.

Powertrain options mark another major shift, with the new Jeep Compass available for the first time in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric versions. A 106kW mild-hybrid petrol model headlines the combustion range, joined by a 143kW plug-in hybrid variant featuring a 21kWh battery for up to 85km of electric-only driving.
The electric lineup includes two front-wheel-drive versions offering 157kW or 170kW, with range options of 500km from a 73kWh battery or an impressive 650km from a 96kWh pack. However, the flagship is the all-electric Compass 4xe, which is the only all-wheel-drive variant at launch. It adds a 130kW rear motor to deliver 275kW in total, making it the most powerful vehicle yet based on the STLA Medium platform.

The rear motor is unique to Jeep, featuring a 14:1 reducer that enables up to 3226Nm of torque at the rear wheels. A 10mm suspension lift further boosts its off-road geometry.
