Motorsport Diary: Kiwis racing overseas this weekend

It’s another big weekend for Kiwi motorsport, with 17 drivers representing New Zealand across 11 categories worldwide. 

All Kiwi F1 fans will have eyes on Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. There Liam Lawson tries to follow up on his career-best finish in Austria last weekend.

In the U.S., it’s a packed schedule for IndyCars at Mid-Ohio with three major series in town. Scott Dixon, Scott McLaughlin, and Marcus Armstrong line up in IndyCar’s 10th round of the season. Callum Hedge is back in action in Indy NXT.

Shane van Gisbergen is tackling the tricky Chicago Street Course in both the NASCAR Xfinity and Cup Series. He is aiming to build on his growing street course reputation after a win in Mexico a fortnight ago.

There’s also some midweek action Stateside, with Van Gisbergen and McLaughlin set to race in Round 7 of the Cook Out Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
