Moto Morini lands 450 LAMS ADV bike for under $10k

Moto Morini New Zealand says its oddly-named Alltrhike 450 adventure bike will be arriving here this October.

A good looking ADV from Moto Morini. Pity bout the name.

The new LAMS-legal offering will go on sale for $9999 including GST.  Purpose-built for exploration and priced right, the Alltrhike 450 is poised to shake up the lightweight ADV segment. Just wish they’d given it a simpler name though. It sounds like a mix of All Terrain and Hike, but surely All Terrain Bike would have worked better? Alltrbike. Even then…

Twin front headlights and decent screen good for local conditions.

Anyhow, the MM blends Italian design, rugged engineering, and solid value. The firm sees this as a great fit for adventure-curious learners, weekend off-roaders, commuters, and “anyone who wants to escape the ordinary”.

LAMS 450 twin

At the heart of the Morini is a compact 450cc liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin engine. It delivers 44hp (33kW) and 44Nm of torque. Optimised for strong low-end performance and smooth power delivery, this set-up is ideal for versatility across various terrains.

The bike’s balanced power curve and manageable handling characteristics make it well-suited for on-road travel and off-road exploration, according to MM New Zealand.

Around 220mm of ground clearance should help with off-road antics.

The six-speed gearbox and Bosch EFI ensure smooth fuelling and optimal all-round performance, while Euro 5+ emissions compliance helps with efficiency.

The small Morini features a steel chassis paired with KYB 41mm adjustable USD forks (210mm of travel) and a KYB shock with 190mm travel. Overall dry weight is 170kg while a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear are designed for off-road readiness. Helping in that regard is switchable ABS.

I wont ever get used to the Alltrhike name. Just change it.

Other features include an 18-litre fuel tank, a seat height of 847mm, a nav-ready TFT display and USB charging ports.

Colour options include green, black and white.

With 220mm of ground clearance, a skid plate, centre stand, and robust front mudguard, the 450 is “adventure-ready off the showroom floor”. The ADV is also backed by Moto Morini’s three-year factory warranty.
