The MG Mystics, defending champions in the ANZ Premiership Netball Competition, have taken delivery of a fleet of new MG HS Plug-In Hybrid for the upcoming season.

The award-winning medium-size SUV offers power, practicality, and the option to operate in a fully electric drive mode, delivering significantly reduced running costs compared with a conventional petrol vehicle.

“This season will be the third year of the partnership between MG and the Mystics, we thought it was a great opportunity for the team to experience the HS PHEV, as it seamlessly combines the power of an advanced petrol engine with an electric motor for better fuel economy,” said MG New Zealand Country Manager Arek Zywot.

Key features include MG Pilot (a wide-ranging suite of active and passive safety features), fuel consumption of 1.7L/100km, an electric driving range of 63km (NEDC) while creature comforts include front heated seats, driver’s six-way electric seat, rearview camera, keyless entry and push button start.

“The defending champion MG Mystics will feel right at home in their new HS PHEVs’ and we would like to wish them every success in their quest to win another title,” said Mr Zywot.

The fleet of new branded vehicles has been delivered to the team and will be used by senior players throughout the Championship.

“MG New Zealand has provided invaluable support to the Mystics, we’re thrilled to have them as our principal sponsor again for 2024 and alongside us sharing in our on-court success,” said MG Mystics CEO, Phil Vyver.

The new season gets underway on Saturday April 13.
