MG Motor NZ warranty updated ahead of U9 arrival

MG Motor New Zealand has launched its new Warranty Policies, continuing with one of the most generous guarantees in the New Zealand automotive market.

MG showed off its Ranger and Hilux rival, the U9, at the Melbourne motor show in April this year.

From 1 July 2025, all newly registered MG vehicles will benefit from a refreshed warranty offering. It is designed to give drivers value, confidence, flexibility, ownership options and long-term support.

For non-commercial customers, MG continues to offer up to 10 years or 250,000 kilometres of coverage. That’s providing all scheduled servicing is completed at an authorised MG dealership.

Commercial customers will benefit from a seven-year or 160,000 kilometre warranty. Again, that’s one of the strongest commercial warranties available in the market.

This coverage reflects MG’s continued investment in vehicle quality. It ensures owners receive top care and genuine MG parts during servicing of their vehicle.

MG also confirmed warranty details for its upcoming MGU9, classified under the Light Commercial Vehicle category. When serviced exclusively at an MG dealership, the MGU9 will be backed by a seven-year/200,000 kilometre warranty. Commercial-use variants will receive five years or 160,000 kilometres of coverage.

“At MG, we know that our customers value confidence, high quality, care and flexibility,” said Kenneth Lu, Head of Aftersales at MG Motor Australia and New Zealand.

“Our new warranty program reflects our commitment to supporting owners at every stage of their journey, from the first drive to long-term ownership….”

MG Motor New Zealand remains focused on delivering high-quality vehicles designed for Kiwi roads. It now also has a national network of more than 25 dealerships and a promise to keep every MG driver supported on the road ahead.
