MG Motor New Zealand Offers 10-year New Car Warranty

Starting today, MG is setting a new benchmark in the New Zealand automotive landscape. It is offering an industry-leading 10-year/250,000km warranty across its entire portfolio of new vehicles.

The longer warranty applies to new vehicles subjected to normal use. Those used commercially retain the former seven-year/160,000km warranty for manufacturing defects during normal use.

Furthermore, MG has announced a price reduction across its range of electric and PHEV models.

MG Motor New Zealand COO, Harrie Yan, said brand confidence is a significant consideration for new-car buyers. He said that a longer warranty period can be influential in making a purchasing decision.

“If you’re looking for value and peace of mind from a new car purchase, the length and quality of the factory warranty should be as important as the horsepower. 

“We think that our new 10-year warranty for EV, PHEV, Hybrid and petrol range of vehicles is the best in the market. It also reinforces trust in our cars.

“From today, every new MG vehicle purchased from an authorised MG dealer around the country will be covered by what we believe is the longest factory warranty in the business.

“MG’s 10-year warranty delivers unmatched peace of mind and ensures that you are fully supported on every journey. When it comes time for our customers to upgrade their car, we want them to turn to us first as we have a wide range of great products in the market and more on their way,” said Mr Yan.

In addition to this announcement, the cost of a new EV or PHEV from MG will be more attainable.

Pricing is effective from August 1, 2024.

MG 4 – Excite 51kWh was $46,990, drops to $42,990.

MG 4 Excite 64kWh was $51,990, drops to $49,990.

MG 4 – Essence 64kWh MG 4 was $54,990, drops to $52,990

MG 4 – X-Power AWD was $69,990, drops to $64,990

MG4 – Essence 77kWh was $63,990, drops to $59,990

MG HS – PHEV Excite was $50,990, drops to $44,990

MG HS – PHEV Essence was $55,990 drops to $49,990

ZS EV – Excite was $50,990, drops to $40,990

ZS EV – Essence was $53,990, drops to $45,990

ZS EV – Long Range was $59,990, drops to $55,990
