The renewal of the HS line-up is now complete with the arrival of the HS Hybrid+ and Super Hybrid models. There are four in total, two each of Hybrid+ and Super Hybrid (Excite and Essence specifications).

The latest variants offer what MG says is the best of electrified motoring for local conditions. They deliver significantly improved fuel efficiency while offering flexibility for long trips.
Main features of HS Hybrid+
The HS Hybrid+ delivers an overall output of 165kW and 340Nm, utilising a 1.83kWh hybrid battery, a 1.5L turbo engine and a 146kW electric motor. Fuel economy combined is a claimed 5.2 overall, and 4.2L/100km in urban environs.

New HS features a wider 1890mm body and extended 4670mm length, translating to ample room for passengers.

With all seats in use, there’s 507L of luggage space. After split folding that expands to 1484L of boot capacity. The Hybrid+ models cost $44,990 and $48,990, for Excite and Essence trims, respectively.
HS Super Hybrid highlights
Powered by a 154kW/340Nm traction motor and 105kW/230Nm engine, the combined output is 220kW and 350Nm.
The Super Hybrid is a PHEV, with a pure electric driving range of up to 120km (WLTP) from its 24.7kWh battery pack. Overall fuel use is a stated 0.7L/100km. A recharge using a wall charger takes four hours.
When fully charged and fully fueled, MG says to expect over 1000km of total combined range.

The spacious interior uses soft-touch materials for driver and passengers alike.
Smart tech includes dual 12.3-inch displays to keep everything within view, wireless ACP and AA, and wireless charging. The Excite version goes for $52,990 and the Essence Super Hybrid carries a sticker price of $56,990.
Dean Sheed, Country Business Manager for MG New Zealand, commented: “The HS SUV range is now complete and is a great option for families looking for an efficient and powerful mid-sized SUV without compromise.”

Stuart Mitchell, Business Director – EV & Hybrid for MG Australia and New Zealand, added: “The all-new HS Super Hybrid has been designed for Kiwi motorists. Drivers can fuel up, charge the battery and drive over 1000kms, giving them the freedom to go anywhere they want. The incredible driving range is made possible by our hybrid system’s exceptional fuel economy.”
The Hybrid+ and Super Hybrid models are backed up by MG’s seven years/unlimited km coverage as standard, plus a three-year MG service-activated extension. That means MG drivers have up to 10 years/250,000km of factory support, whichever comes first. MG also offers service-activated roadside assist.
The HS Hybrid+ is now available at MG dealerships nationwide, while the HS Super Hybrid arrives at dealerships in early October.
