Mercedes-Benz has launched the new EQE in New Zealand, with pricing and specification now being revealed for the fully electric model.

Consumers have a choice of three different trim levels including the EQE 300, EQE 350 4Matic and EQE 53 4Matic+.

EQE 300

Starting with the EQE 300, the entry-level model is priced at $132,100 drive away and comes with a single electric motor that drives the rear wheels.

Power is rated at 180kW while boasting 550Nm of torque which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.3 seconds.

Energy is drawn from an 89kWh battery, giving the EQE 300 a maximum driving range of 626km.

The model comes with the latest generation of Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system which feature an augmented reality navigation display. A head-up display is also included.

The centrally-mounted OLED screen has an integrated fingerprint scanner which can activate personalised driver profiles, while a Burmester 3D surround sound system comes as standard along with smartphone integration for both Apple and Android devices and wireless device charging.

Also on offer is the optional AMG Line interior which gets sports seats, a multifunction steering wheel trimmed in Nappa leather, and AMG floor mats. Both front seats can be adjusted electronically while a panoramic sliding sunroof is standard.

The AMG Line exterior adds AMG-inspired body styling and a radiator grille studded with a Mercedes-Benz pattern. 20-inch AMG 5-spoke alloy wheels complete its external appearance.

Occupants can ride with piece of mind considering the EQE 300 is equipped with a suite of safety features including 10 airbags. The optional Driving Assistance Package Plus adds a host of active features such as distance assist, brake assist, lane change assist, blind spot assist, lane keep assist, and more.

The model also comes with a 360-degree parking camera and active parking assist.

EQE 350 4Matic

The EQE 350 4Matic sits smack bang in the middle of the lineup, retailing for $145,000 drive away.

It builds on the entry-level model’s specification but adds a second electric motor, giving it all-wheel drive and a total output of 215kW and 765Nm of torque.

A 0 to 100km/h sprint takes 6.3 seconds while the EQE 350 4Matic can travel 590km on a single charge.

EQE 53 4Matic

At the top of the range sits the EQE 53 4Matic+, which is priced at $195,000 drive away.

Underneath its body sits uprated dual electric motors which produce 460kW and 950Nm of torque, jetting the car to 100km/h from a stand still in 3.5 seconds.

The added performance takes a hit to range though, with the model achieving a maximum driving distance of 500km on a single charge.

In addition to the EQE 350, the EQE 53 comes with a Mercedes-AMG interior with an AMG Performance steering wheel clad in Nappa leather, while both front seats are wrapped in the same material and boast AMG styling.

Air suspension can be found at all four corners which is said to enhance comfort. Rear-axle steering also features, enabling a shorter turning circle while cornering or parking, as well as offering better steering response.

Red brake calipers complete the exterior additions thanks to the Mercedes-AMG exterior package.

The Guard 360-degree Vehicle Protection plus package enables collision detection, stolen vehicle assistance and emergency key deactivation.
