Manthey Kit makes for a quicker 911 GT3

  • – More downforce, more grip, sharper control – and a quicker Nürburgring time to prove it

Porsche has revealed a new Manthey Kit for the latest 911 GT3 (992.2), delivering a raft of motorsport-inspired upgrades designed for owners who take their car to the circuit as often as the morning commute. While the Weissach Package already pushes the GT3 into track-focused territory, the Manthey Kit goes further with reworked aerodynamics, coilover suspension, brake optimisation and optional lightweight wheels which are all engineered to squeeze more pace out of Porsche’s hard-charging naturally aspirated hero.

The results speak for themselves: the GT3 fitted with the full Manthey package has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:52.981, nearly three seconds quicker than the previous Manthey-equipped GT3.

Aerodynamics completely reworked

The 911 GT3 is hardly under-done in the downforce department to begin with, but the Manthey upgrade turns the underbody, front end and rear wing into an integrated aero system. The undertray is now a single continuous surface, with turning vanes extended from 0.5 to 1.5 metres to efficiently generate extra downforce without adding drag. Even the front luggage compartment floor has been covered to smooth airflow underneath the car.

A new front lip stretches 12mm further forward, while updated diffuser fins and side flaps increase front-axle stability. At the rear, the swan-neck wing is wider and now includes a Gurney flap, with enlarged end plates that curve inward for optimal airflow. A reworked rear diffuser with longer fins further boosts stability at high speed.

Completing the aero package are carbon-fibre wheel covers on the rear wheels, reducing turbulence and complementing the low-drag philosophy of the whole kit.

In road-legal mode, the GT3 with the Manthey Kit produces 355kg of downforce at 285km/h. Switch to circuit mode and downforce climbs to a claimed 540kg at the same speed, all without an increase in drag.

Track-tuned suspension and braking upgrades

A new four-way adjustable coilover suspension has been developed jointly by Porsche and Manthey. Rebound and compression can be adjusted without tools, and spring rates have been moderately increased to suit the higher downforce loads. Porsche says the revised setup improves mechanical grip and stability, especially when the car is pitched over kerbs.

Optional forged 20- and 21-inch wheels shave a total of 6kg of unsprung mass, and come in Brilliant Silver, Neodyme, or Black. The Manthey package also includes braided steel brake lines as standard, while track-optimised PCCB racing pads can be added for even sharper stopping performance.

Accessories for owners who want the works

For those who want to dress up their GT3 as well as sharpen it, Porsche will offer a range of Manthey-branded accessories including illuminated carbon-fibre door sills, LED door projectors, and Manthey decals. The aero discs can be customised in different colours, and track-spec tow straps (in red, black or yellow) can be fitted for circuit days (though Porsche says they must be removed before driving on public roads). Additional carbon-fibre vents and intakes are also available.

Nordschleife-proven performance

At the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with DTM champion Ayhancan Güven driving, Porsche says the car posted a 6:52.981 lap despite damp, slippery sections of track.

“With the Manthey Kit, the 911 GT3 has once again become noticeably better in corners on the circuit,” says Güven. “The significantly higher downforce and the optimised suspension make the car very easy to control and provide the driver with even more confidence. Unfortunately, the lap time wasn’t ideal, as the autumn weather meant that the track was still damp in some places and therefore very slippery – otherwise we could have shaved off a few more seconds.”

Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH, added: “For more than a year, we worked with the Porsche engineers to develop the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 and did a lot of detailed work in the wind tunnel. We also tested it over several thousand kilometres on European racetracks and on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Since the track conditions were challenging at critical points when setting the official lap time, we will make another attempt next year in better weather to demonstrate the full potential of the Manthey Kit.”

On sale next year

The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 will be available through Porsche Centres worldwide from March 2026, and importantly, the GT3’s factory warranty remains fully intact.
